Many things are changing in this fiscal environment yet one trend remains the same—happy hour! Everyone’s watching what they eat these days, but who’s watching what they drink? As dietitians, we’ve found ways to drink smart.  We encounter clients concerned about health and weight maintenance every day. More times than not, they consume many more calories in beverages then they are aware (so many liquid calories, in fact, that it can equate to one to two pounds per week.) Aperitifs and novelty drinks can also pour in the sugar, providing unnecessary calories that we so often overlook. But, there is hope! Those hidden liquid calories don’t have to be as problematic anymore…
