A Refreshing Sip for Game Day

16 Sep

The Low-Down Derby

1.5 oz bourbon

3 oz diet Sprite

Fresh mint to taste

Pulverize mint with mortar and pestle or hand chop. Put mint in the bottom of a High Ball glass or similar. Put ice in glass on top of mint. Add bourbon and diet Sprite, stir and enjoy.

Garnish with sprig of mint.

Approximately 105 calories.

This is our spin on a southern favorite. You may find the original Julep at a horse track in Kentucky on a hot May day.

USE CAUTION: Drink with a friend. You may need a check up for mint in your grill!

Man, good tip–I hate it when I run to the ladies room and note the big, green glob in my teeth! ;o) I’ll be sure to make this soon–just with Sprite Zero!!!
